Project: Alarm Rationalisation

Role: Senior Alarm Management Consultant

Duration: February 2018 – February 2018

Project Description: QAFAC is implementing alarm management and wants to improve their alarm rates by rationalising their bad actor alarms.

Project Contribution: As Senior Alarm Management Consultant, I work with the QAFAC operations management and operations engineers to define and design a suitable alarm philosophy document for QAFAC and implement this alarm philosophy document by performing alarm rationalization on their bad actor alarms and decide on a way forward to reduce the alarms. Daily sessions over multiple weeks have been organized to fully rationalize the QAFAC Process Control Systems.

One remark from the customer was very pleasant for me. During the evaluation of the project I asked for a feedback on the expectations and the outcome of the project. The customer replied that I was the first consultant he had worked with, who could inform about how and why to use the provided alarm management solution. So far he had only seen engineers who could explain which button to press to get something done, but the reason why and what is the best way to do it, were never properly answered.

Project: RLDC Zellik

Role: Senior Project Manager ICT

Duration: March 2017 – January-2018

Project Description: Euro Pool System is supplying the fresh food market with packaging crates, to be used in the transport of fresh good from the producers to the supermarkets. These crates are owned by Euro Pool System and Euro Pool System is managing the logistic processes to move crates to the producers, to the distribution centres, to the supermarkets and finally returning the crates to the Euro Pool System depots for cleaning, including applicable track and trace functions on crate level (total 80 million crates circulate through Europe each year). Each crate represents a packaging deposit value, hence moving the crates through the food chain, means moving the equivalent packaging deposit values backwards through the chain.

The RLDC Zellik project involves the creation and modification of Process Level, MES level and ERP level systems, including interfacing and middleware solutions like SAP Pro. The project includes enhanced returned goods processing, hence the applicable processes and systems had to be enhanced to cover this additional functionality.

Project Contribution: As ICT Project Manager, I manage the team of Business Analysts, Software Developers and SAP Pro Consultants involved in designing, developing, documenting and testing all relevant ICT systems.
